![]() Note: The room is a dedicated theater room and doesn't have much ambient light however, the projector will be mostly used at night. The Optoma GT1080Darbee in the ceiling about 4 feet away.ģ2 oz bottle of Rust-oleum Metallic Accent Pearl White I chose Pearl White because I read that it gives you both contrast and a slight gain but I've heard people mention the Metallic Accent Silver. I just need help finding the right mix, from what I already have, that will give me contrast during darker scenes. The image was actually really bright against the Peddle Gray, so gain isn't an issue. Not sure if this is a common projector shortcoming or a legitimate issue I'm having, either way I went with good'ol Behr Silver Screen. ![]() ![]() I was previously projecting the screen onto a flat Pebble Gray wall (I choose that color by sheer coincidence not knowing it was a popular choice) and the color contrast was good but the blacks were too dark causing all dark colors in low light scenes to basically blob together, details were lost. I'm aware that there is no perfect formula and it's basically personal preference. I've tried doing research but my head is spinning with all the different formulas and additives. The reason I'm posting this thread is because I need help selecting the correct paint mix formula. So far I've bolted the drywall to the wall, joined and smoothed the drywall pieces, and framed it with 1x3 wood (later painting flat black). I recently bought a Optoma GT1080Darbee (Short Throw) and I'm in the process of finishing my permanent drywall projector screen. Ok so I'm a long time lurker first time poster.
